"Welcome," Lana said. There was a large crate with her, which she levitated with the Force to get it through the portal. "Today I imagine we're all melting," since the heat index in Baltimore was 100F, "so we're going somewhere cooler. I've got cold-weather clothing once we're through." She gestured after the crate. Nobody was going to have to put that on until you were actually where it was cool.
She walked through the portal and waited until they showed up, putting on her parka and inviting the others to do the same. Which they might want to, since they were in an ice cave.
Okay, "cooler" might be underselling it.
"Welcome to Hoth. One of the colder settled planets in the galaxy. Well, semi-settled." She waggled her hand. "That is, there are military bases for both the Empire and Republic here, along with outlaw settlements and scavenger and trader outposts. No shopping today, but there is a spectacular view." She led the way outside one everyone was suited up. The cave was halfway up a steep slope, overlooking a gorge with volcanic eruptions every so often that leaked hot rock, making the place a bit artistically foggy and somewhat warmer in places. Where the sun glinted off the ice, it glittered in blues and whites.
"I've got tea and coffee, and a bit of whiskey if you like, and you can take some time to appreciate the view and the cold, or you can carefully walk down to see the eruptions if you'd rather. I trust you to know where 'too close' is."
Then she was sitting on a rock and pouring herself a tea and whiskey.
